Since the first Annual International Monadnock Instructor Seminar held in 1980 at the Ohio Peace Officers Training Academy, a seminar notebook has been published.
With each advancing year, topics were added to the seminar's educational menu. Core seminar topics such as Use of Force have been updated as changes in policing standards have evolved and/or court ruling have required change.
Computers and software have forever changed how police trainers teach and students learn. The Monadnock Police Training Council is now in the "electronic age" with the introduction of two compact disks. Compact disk #1, the Instructor Course Notebook, instructors or instructor-trainers can search for critical information with a click of a mouse, and then print it out for their students. Compact disk #1A, Presentation and Reference Notebooks, instructors or instructor-trainers can apply the dynamic power of presentation software to convey information to their students. Students learn more and retain it longer by using multi-media presentation software that excites their senses.
With the help of these compact disks, officers who hold a Monadnock instructor certificate can efficiently teach a Monadnock curriculum within their agency or an outside agency as never before.
